Weather & Tide

The weather in Cornwall can vary dramatically from the North coast to the South coast. Cornwall does have its own micro climate and therefore the weather is milder and more difficult to predict.  Always bring a waterproof with you and be prepared for the weather to change.

Tides

Always check the tide times before you enter into the water and make sure you don’t get cut off by the tide. Information on Tide times can be found at the BBC website see the link below.

Every year many people get in to difficulties on our beaches and in the water, please see below for more information on the RNLI Life boats and Lifeguards.

The nearest RNLI Life boat station to Truro is Falmouth, the lifeboat station has operated for nearly 140 years. The station has both an all weather Severn class lifeboat and an inshore B class lifeboat. The crews have been presented with 19 awards for gallantry.

Life Guards, are provided on the most popular beaches in Cornwall from Easter – October.  The RNLI produce a Beach Safety Guide which can be picked up from our office or alternatively go to www.rnli.org.uk where more information can be found on how to stay safe and have a great day on the beach.
