You could arrive in Truro and not need to use your car for the whole of your stay!

Truro what a great location to stay at in Cornwall. Centrally positioned we are ideal for using as base to explore the coast and countryside. 

Park for Truro

Our permanent Park and Ride scheme, which is based at Langarth approximately 3 miles from Truro is accessible from the A30 along the A390 heading into Truro. Lanagarth Park has the ability to hold over 1000 cars at the site. Park for Truro has essentially been developed to attract car users to the site in order to reduce congestion in Truro.  

The service operates from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday. The first bus departs Langarth Park at 7am and the last bus arrives back at 7.20pm. There is now an evening extension between Langarth Park and Royal Cornwall Hospital operates until 8.20pm Monday to Saturday. The service will not operate on Sundays or Public Bank Holidays unless advertised otherwise.

  • Day rover ticket     £1.50
  • Family day rover   £3.00 (max 2 adults plus 4 children ages 5-15, under 5s travel free) *
  • 5 day ticket            £6.75**
  • 20 day ticket          £24.00**
  • 60 day ticket          £63.00**

*A child must travel as part of a group.

**Do not have to be consecutive days of travel.

Tickets are valid on the day of issue and can be used for any number of trips throughout the day on this service.

Everyone using this service will need to either obtain a day rover ticket from the ticket machines located within the amenity building or a season ticket from the enquiry desk.

Concessionary fares pass holders can travel for free on the park and ride service after 9.30am Monday to Friday and anytime Saturday.  They will still need to obtain a ticket from the ticket machine at the site prior to travel but will not be charged.  Before 9.30am a regular ticket will have to be purchased from the site. All tickets must be shown to the driver when boarding.

Trains

Truro has the best network of transport to explore this beautiful part of the country. We have access to the main line train service which runs between Penzance and Paddington, so you can jump on a train and visit artistic St Ives or go up to visit the Historic Town of Bodmin. There is also the Maritime Line which runs to Falmouth from Truro frequently; Falmouth is home to the Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and plenty of sandy beaches to visit. www.nationalrail.co.uk

Buses

We have a main bus station where you can get a First Service or even book a National Express. We also have the Western Greyhound buses which service most of the North Coast. Boats & Ferries

Truro also has Enterprise Boats which operate Easter to October and provide a car free journey to Trelissick Gardens, St Mawes or Falmouth along the River Fal for more information please visit www.enterprise-boats.co.uk .

And of course not far from Truro we have the King Harry Ferry an iconic part of Cornwall's history which connects the Roseland with Truro and Falmouth. The service operates all year round, seven days a week. The King Harry Ferry was voted one of the top ten ferry crossings in the world.
