Angling - one of the most popular pastimes, is possible in the River Fal. Rod Licenses can be obtained from the Environment Agency on 0844 800 5386 or the Post Office. Slightly further afield, Argal (Penryn) & Stithian’ s Reservoirs permit fly fishing for trout with course fishing on College, Penryn. Tickets for Argal & College can be obtained from the self service kiosk at Argal. Permits for fly fishing at Stithians from the Golden lion at Menherion by the entrance to Stithians Reservoir.
Bowls – at Truro City Bowling Club on Kenwyn Road.
Cricket – Pitches are at Boscawen Park, next door to the ground and clubhouse of Truro Cricket Club. Visitors are welcome at Truro City Club.
Football – Treyew Road is the home ground of Truro City AFC.
Gliding – Is a sport that can be enjoyed at the Trevellas Airfield, near Perranporth, which is the base for the Cornish Gliding and Flying Club
Golf – Truro Golf Club has an attractive 18 holed parkland course at Treliske, two miles west of the city. It has a club house and provides a welcome to visitors. The other local 18 hole course Killiow is to be found three mile out of the city at Playing Place on the A39 main road to Falmouth.
Horse riding – there are several riding schools & stables around the city. Reen Manor at Perranporth includes Beach Guides .
Rugby – Truro RFC, St Clements Hill, Truro
Squash – is catered for by squash courts at Truro Squash Club on St Georges Road, just of past Victoria Gardens .
Surfing – the nearest surfing beaches to Truro (and some of the best to be found in Cornwall) are at Trevaunace Cove, St Agnes & at Perranporth.
Swimming – Truro Leisure Centre, College Road, Truro has excellent six lane, 25m pool.
Tennis – Public Tennis courts are at Boscawen Park, please contact the Tourist Office for more information. Truro Lawn Tennis Club can be found off Newbridge Lane.
Ten Pin Bowling – Truro Bowl, Oakway, Moresk Road, Truro.
Windsurfing – is a sport that can be enjoyed at Stithians Reservoir.
